Default Staff Wrapping of .......slaying.

We all know that if you stick, say, an Axe Grip of Pruning onto an axe it will grant you up to +20% damage to plants.

When this mod comes in the form of a staff wrapping does it only increase the "wanding" damage by up to 20%, or the damage from spells cast by up to 20%? I always thought it was just wanding damage but I got thinking recently and I may be wrong. Can anyone confirm which damage it increases when used on a staff?

For a start any specific damage amount spell wont do any extra damage. (such as Necro ones)

Im also 99% sure that it only effects the "wanding" damage since it works in the same way other mods such as +15% while enchanted works etc. Its Attacks that trigger the bonus damage not spell casting.

It's a weapon mod, it only applies to weapon damage.

If you have one, you can also test it. Find a nice target and watch the results of averages. Or use an armor ignoring skill.

In other words it is completely 100% useless unless you're one of those eles who hasn't heard of energy management and is forced to wand while their energy increases?

Thanks for clearing that one up...it just got me wondering this morning.

Yeah its pretty worthless. Granted Of Slaying Mods in general are only useful if you tend to farm a specific area a lot or if you have a Of Slaying Mod for every creature type.
